I’m Roland, a Tacoma wedding photographer specializing in documentary-styled wedding and portrait photography. The work that I do – wedding, portrait or otherwise – is about you. But I think it’s important for you to know a little bit about the person behind the camera.
So here’s my story.
I grew up in Steilacoom, Washington, an awesome town on the Puget Sound. Naturally, I’m your typical Northwesterner. I love coffee, microbrews, camping and road trips.
I started my professional career as a photographer in 2008 when I enlisted in the Army as a public affairs photographer. I joined to kick-start my venture into the world of print journalism, but fell in love with photography along the way. I spent five years covering Iraq and Afghanistan with my camera before I came home to start this business.
Today, there’s no way I could not be a photographer. I’m a wedding photographer because it’s the most fulfilling way I can combine my passions for people, expression and images to make something meaningful. Shooting weddings allows me to create images with real, lasting value. I love the feeling of producing work that is original and will always mean something.
Now it’s your turn. Let’s get to know each other.
